Nevada’s Grant Matching Program just posted its Notice of Funding Opportunity and is ready to accept applications for the 2023 State Fiscal Year. This fund is available on a first-come, first-serve basis for Nevada state and local agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofits seeking match dollars for new federal funding opportunities.
The Grant Matching Program (GMP), administered by the Governor’s Office of Federal Assistance (OFA), can award eligible applicants up to 50 percent of the match requirement for federal funding opportunities. Interested entities are encouraged to apply online at ofa.nv.gov.
"With so many new federal funding opportunities available for state fiscal year 2023, we envision our Grant Matching Program to be in high demand,” said Kristen Stout, OFA director. “By leveraging this innovative resource as a match for new federal funding opportunities we are eager to ensure our stakeholders can obtain the federal grant funding for projects or programs that would enhance their community within the state of Nevada.
Piloted first in 2019, this program is one of a kind in the nation and showcases Nevada lawmaker’s priority to ensure no federal grant dollars available to Nevada are left on the table. OFA works on the State’s behalf to decrease barriers, such as match requirements, for applicants working to bring fresh federal dollars to the state. OFA provides inclusive, collaborative, comprehensive, and centralized support for nonprofits, businesses, and governments within Nevada.
“If you are working hard to find match dollars for federal programs, our GMP program might be just the right fit for your entity!” said program manager Nicole Kelleher. “We are here to remove barriers you may be facing.”
Previous recipients include: the City of North Las Vegas Fire Department Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the Department of Homeland Security, the City of Las Vegas Economic Adjustment Assistance Grant from the American Rescue Plan, and Western Nevada College Pollution Prevention Grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The application for State Fiscal Year 2023 is available now at ofa.nv.gov.
