Federal Grant Discovery Tool

Governor’s Office of Federal Assistance Announces New and Innovative Federal Grant Discovery Tool to Empower Regional Collaboration in Grant Discovery

Carson City NV-- The Nevada Governor’s Office of Federal Assistance (OFA) continues to reduce barriers and provide inclusive, collaborative, and centralized support to stakeholders in their efforts to obtain and manage federal dollars for Nevada. The OFA team is excited to announce a tool that automates grant discovery and partnership identification efforts across various stakeholder groups.

“Streamlining grant discovery by removing barriers, breaking down silos, and fostering partnerships in an effort to submit more competitive federal grant applications on behalf of Nevada is just another example of OFA working to support its stakeholders,” states Kristen Stout, Director of the Office of Federal Assistance.

In partnership with U.S. Digital Response (USDR), a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that helps governments respond quickly to the critical needs of the public, OFA has tailored a cloud-based tool where a user can quickly discover grants that are relevant to them, subscribe to an email digest of newly released grants based on their custom search criteria, as well as track what grants they are working on. Additionally, users can see who else in Nevada has indicated interest in an opportunity, leading to greater collaboration and stronger applications.

“We envision that our stakeholders, from local and tribal government to nonprofit organizations, will be able to connect with Nevada state agencies and each other to collaborate on grant applications and truly build partnerships in an effort to bring in and spend federal dollars in support of Nevadans,” Mayita Sanchez, Executive Grant Analyst of OFA and project lead, stated.

The collaboration between the OFA and USDR in customizing a free and pioneering tool for grant discovery is paving the way for other states to adopt similar solutions. Nevada, through OFA, has led the charge in leveraging technology to reduce redundancy and create a more inclusive federal funding discovery process.

“We’re thrilled to support the Nevada Governor’s Office of Federal Assistance team with this innovative tool,” Hillary Hartley, CEO of U.S. Digital Response, said. “This collaborative effort is a great example of how technology can quickly reduce barriers, create a more inclusive process, and reduce redundancy, ultimately bringing urgently needed assistance to communities across Nevada.”

The tool is now available, at no cost, to all Nevada entities and organizations who are interested in leveraging technology in support of their grant discovery efforts. To learn more about the tool and to request access for your agency or organization please visit the OFA website at ofa.nv.gov/grantdiscovery.
